Five killed in separate accidents
KATHMANDU, FEB 13 - Five people were killed in different accidents at various parts of the country in last 24 hours.
A taxi driver was killed when a mini truck (Ba 1 Kha 455) and a taxi (Ba 1 Ja 7325) collided with each other in Balkhu Friday night.
Seriously injured driver Amit Gurung died at Sanepa-based Star Hospital while undergoing treatment. Police have impounded the truck driver.
Similarly, two people died in a road accident along the Nawalpur-Malangawa road section of Haripur-1 in Sarlahi district yesterday.
Cyclist Nirtan Mahato, 45, and his son Shyam, 6, were killed when a bus (Ja 1 Kha 635) hit their cycle.
Likewise, Om Bahadur Kumal, 15, of Khairanitar-8, Tanahun, died on the spot in a tractor accident, said police. The tractor was on its route to Dumre from Pharakchaur, Byas municipality-4.
In another accident, a sexagenarian was found dead inside a water-well near White House College, Lalitpur sub-metropolis-15. The deceased has been identified as Bhakule Baiba, 65, of Sindhupalchowk district, said police. Police have been investigating into the incident.
