Slain media mogul Shah's last rites performed

KATHMANDU, FEB 11 - Five days after his murder in broad daylight in downtown capital, the last rites of slain Media entrepreneur Jamim Shah was performed at Swoyambhu, Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon.
A body procession was carried out before cremating Shah. The procession began from his residence in Panipokhari and marched all the way through Lazimpat, Shorakhutte and Bijeshowari and finally concluded at Swoyambhu, where his funeral rites were conducted as per the Muslim tradition.
A huge number of people, among others, mediapersons, entrepreneurs, Shah’s relatives, well-wishers and people of Muslim community, who paid their last respect to Shah earlier today, took part in the procession.
Two unidentified gunmen had shot shah, Chairman of Space Time Network, dead in Lazimpat on Sunday afternoon.
Shah’s last rites were postponed for days owing to the delay in arrival of his wife and his son, who were abroad. His wife arrived from Indonesia on Wednesday, while his son arrived here today from the US.
Meanwhile, Cable Television Association has announced to halt the broadcast of all television channels for one hour starting 7 PM today in protest of Shah’s murder.
