BAITADI, FEB 11 - Passengers have been left stranded after heavy snowfall at the Bhajhapani-Sribhawar-Bitthadkhanda of the Khodpe-Bajhang Jaya Prithivi Bahadur Singh Highway of Baitadi.

Hundreds of passengers on the way to Chainpur, the headquarters of Bajhang and Purchaundi of Baitedi have been stranded at Sribhawar, Dudhilakhan, Bithada and Deulek of the highway, according to local businessman Sailendra Dhanuk.

Snow as high as two feet has accumulated on the road, making it difficult for vehicles to ply on.

The stranded passengers also include a large number of people returning home for the Shiva Ratri festival.

The Sribhawar market in Baitedi has recorded the highest snowfall in the past one decade, says local trader, Dhirendra Dhami.
