Lawmakers slam govt for lax security
KATHMANDU, FEB 08 - The lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition parties on Monday slammed the government over the murder of media entrepreneur Jamim Shah and sought answer from the government over the "lax security arrangement."
"Superficial explanations won't work, the criminals should be brought to justice by carrying out investigation," said the parliamentarians at today's session of Legislature-Parliament.
Maoist lawmaker CP Gajurel said Shah's murder was premeditated and demanded that the government answered regarding the international media coverage on the incident and his alleged links with the Indian underworld.
Laxman Prasad Ghimire of Nepali Congress, Rabindra Adhikari of UML and Anil Jha of Sadbhawana Party also criticised the government.
Responding to the lawmakers' remarks, State Minister for Home Affairs Rijwan Ansari said the security in the Valley has been beefed up. He said yesterday's incident was barbaric.
National flag, anthem in SAG
Likewise, the lawmakers had also demanded answers over the national flag and the national anthem blunder at South Asian Games in Dhaka.
Minister for Sports Ganesh Tiwari said the government has already drawn the attention of Bangladeshi government and will penalise the Nepali officials if found guilty over the incident.
