Maoist-led govt 'panacea to all problems'
BHAKTAPUR, Feb 08 - UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai Monday claimed that the institutionalisation of peace, the constitution drafting, and the restoration of civilian supremacy are not possible without his party's leadership.
Speaking at a programme in Nagarkot today, he said his party still commands the people's support, and claimed that all problems faced by the nation will be resolved once the Maoist-led national government is formed.
"Different national and international powers have conspired to bisiege and weaken the Maoists, but this will not deter the Maoists," Dr. Bhattarai said.
Referring to the murder of Jamim Shah in Kathmandu yesterday, he termed the government's security arrangement as vulnerable. He further criticised the government and its security mechanisms. "Murder happens close to the foreign embassies and the president's residence. But the government is clueless," he said, and questioned how could such it provide security to the public.
