VP Jha oath row: Armed group burns Maithili version of oath
RAJBIRAJ, FEB 07 - Hours after Parmananda Jha re-took oath of office and secrecy to reactivate himself as the Vice President, an armed group staged demonstration in Rajbiraj expressing dissatisfaction over Jha's oath taking in Maithili language.
The cadres of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morchha (JTMM) burnt the copies of Vice President's oath in Maithili.
The JTMM cadres said the oath in Maithili had humiliated the Madhesis.
JTMM chairman Rajiv Jha flouted his allegation against the freshly undertaken oath saying that the Hindi language is not just the language of Madhes but also a contact language of Nepal and India and the oath has disrespected the Madhesis.
He also declared to boycott the Veep in any of the public functions in Tarai and greet him with the black flags.
Parmananda Jha had re-taken his oath in Nepali and Maithili language earlier today amid a function organised at President's Office in Sheetal Niwas, Kathmandu.
