Jha may retake oath as VP in Maithili on Sunday
KATHMANDU, FEB 06 - Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has written to the President's Office to make necessary arrangements for administering the oath of office and secrecy to inactive Vice President Paramananda Jha.
Though sources close to the prime minister said the swearing-in ceremony could take place on Sunday, the letter dispatched on Friday has not clarified in which language Jha will be administered the oath.
According to his legal adviser, Jha is considering taking oath in Maithali. "It is sure that he will not take oath in Nepali, but he will go for Maithali," said Mithilesh Kumar Singh.
"The PMO is trying to activate the vice president before the president leaves for India
on his official visit," said a PMO official.
