DHAKA, FEB 02 - Sri Lanka put behind its first match’s disappointment with a thumping 15-1 victory over Nepal in their second 11th South Asian Games hockey match at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday.

It was also the same old story for the Nepalese, who suffered defeats by huge margins against Asian giants India (21-0) and Pakistan (19-0) in their previous two matches.

Sri Lanka, who lost 1-3 to the hosts Bangladesh in its first match, pushed the Nepalese into their own half with their better attacking display and did not allow the vanquished any space to make any move.

Sri Lanka led the first half 9-0 and scored six more goals after the breather to seal the comprehensive victory. Nepal netted its solitary goal against the run of play in the last minute of the match.

Scorers: Abeyarathne (3, 12, 23, 24, 38 56 minutes), Gazzaly (5, 49 minutes), Dissanayaka (10, 26 minutes), Hettiarchchi (17 mintue), Hewaje (69 minutes), Mulaffer (33, 68 minutes), Jayasundara (60 minute) scored for Sri Lanka, while Dipendra scored the only goal for Nepal (70 minutes).
