Cold claims two more

MAHOTTARI, JAN 26 - Two people froze to death in Mahottari district Tuesday morning due to extreme cold conditions.

The deceased are 50-year-old Jayarudra Lal, a headmaster at a primary school in local Bhatauliya VDC and an unidentified woman from Nauhi VDC-8.

Lal died while taking shower at his home, according to his family.

The woman died due to body swelling from exposure to extreme cold when she came out of her house, said Bahadur Mahara, her husband.

Over a dozen people have died due to cold following the onset of cold wave in the district since a month now.
