Tarun Dal enforces Rasuwa banda over YCL attack
RASUWA, JAN 20 - Nepali Congress (NC) youth wing Tarun Dal has called for an indefinite shutdown of Rasuwa district on Wednesday protesting the assault on its member by cadres of Maoist youth front Young Communist League (YCL).
Market places including Dhunche, Syafru, Jiwjiwe, Kalikasthan and Bekrawati have been closed and both short and long distance vehicles have come to a halt due to the bandh.
Earlier, YCL had attacked and injured a member of Tarun Dal at Dhaibung VDC-1 Betini, Rasuwa on Wednesday.
According to Tarun Dal working committee director Shyam Gurung, the YCL who came in a group of 15-16 members on motorcycles stopped and attacked Tarun Dal member Hissi Tamang, a resident of Goljung VDC-7. Tamang is currently undergoing treatment in Rasuwa Hospital and his condition is critical.
He added that the Maoists also looted the motorcycle (Ba 28 Pa 3975) that Tamang was riding. The YCL however claimed that they attacked the Tarun Dal member saying he had attacked and injured the YCL area in-charge of Gatlang, Mingmar Tamang, with a rod.
