150 more disqualified combatants discharged
PARASI, JAN 19 - Of the 622 disqualified combatants residing the Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Fourth Division in Jhyaltungdanda of Nawalparasi, 150 were discharged on Tuesday.
The representatives of UNMIN, UNICEF, OHCHR and Peace and Reconstruction Ministry were present on the occasion.
The rest will be discharged on Thursday.
They were disqualified by UNMIN during the verification of combatants in 2007 as part of the peace process. Their discharge is also a part of the peace process.
Meanwhile, more disqualified combatants residing in three satellite cantonments under the PLA’s First Division will be discharged from Topgachhi of Jhapa and Chulachuli of Ilam on Jan. 24.
