SINDHULI, JAN 18 - Normal life in Sindhuli district has been crippled on Monday as well due to the strike called by the BP Highway Transportation Entrepreneurs Union.

Hundreds of travelers have been stranded as long and short route vehicles stayed off the roads from early this morning.

The entrepreneurs called the strike protesting against Sunday's banda called by the locals of Pipalbhanjyang of Bhadrakali VDC.

The locals had called banda at Sindhulimadi-Khurkot road section along the East West Highway on Sunday demanding 50 per cent concession for the elderly people, students in transportation, seat reservation and management of ticket , among others.

The businessmen have also shut down the markets in the headquarters supporting the entrepreneurs today.

According to BP Highway Transportation Entrepreneurs Union Chairman Chudamani Shrestha, they resorted to the strike as the meeting with the locals at the district administration office yesterday ended inconclusively .
