Disqualified combatants to be discharged from third division cantonment in Chitwan today

CHITWAN, JAN 17 - The disqualified Maoist combatants at the third division cantonment in Chitwan district will be discharged on Sunday.
The Maoist third division cantonment said that preparations have been made for discharging the disqualified combatants.
Of the 3,900 Maoist combatants at the third division cantonment, 586 were disqualified by the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) during its verification in 2007.
255 disqualified combatants will be discharged from the cantonment today, amid a ceremony, as the other combatants have already left the cantonment.
UNMIN, on Saturday, distributed identity cards to the Maoist combatants who will be discharged today.
On Jan. 7, 201 disqualified combatants--155 minors and 46 others recruited after the cut-off date—were discharged from the second division main cantonment site at Dudhauli.
