FNJ flays threat on Kantipur scribe
KATHMANDU, JAN 17 - Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed serious concern over the act of issuing threats to Kantipur's Sunsari reporter Abdesh Kumar Jha.
Four unidentified people on Friday had threatened the journo of life for reporting on some Indians illegally issuing Nepali citizenships.
"They had threatened to bomb his rented room," said FNJ in a statement on Sunday. "It is a direct attack on free press. FNJ condemns such treats and urges the government to immediately bring the culprit to book." The journalists' umbrella body has also urged the government to be serious on guaranteeing security to journalists.
