DHARAN, JAN 16 - A person has been killed and 16 others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Purano Belbaari in Morang district Friday night.
The ill-fated bus (Ko 1 Kha 1013) heading for Itahari from Kakaimai of Jhapa met with an accident at Purano Belbarri last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sundas Pariyar, 32, police informed. He died while undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
Among the injured, four have sustained critical injuries.
Likewise, one person died and one other sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle accident in Jhapa today.
The east-bound motorcycle (Ba 35 Pa 8873) met with an accident at Satasidham, Jhapa killing the pillion rider Tara Katuwal of Keraun, Morang and critically injuring rider Ananta Rahbamsi of Shivagung, Jhapa, police said.
Earlier yesterday night, a car accident at Juke of Surunga, Jhapa along the East-West Highway had left one dead and four others hurt.
The deceased, an Indian national Bal Krishna Dahal was driving the car when it overturned while returning from Maidhar attending the Maghe Sankranti festival.
The car had hit two motorcycles in the same place. According to the sources the over-speeding car overturned while trying to evade the mishap.
