SAG Cricket: Nepal draw India, Pakistan
KATHMANDU, JAN 12 - Nepal has been drawn alongside cricket superpowers India and Pakistan in the cricket tournament of the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) in Dhaka. Nepal is in Group B along with India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Likewise, Group A consists of Bangladesh, the Maldives and Sri Lanka. This is the inaugural cricket tournament in SAG.
Meanwhile, the senior team led by Paras Khadka thumped the U-21 team by 90 runs at a practice match at the Tribhuvan University Ground, Kirtipur on Monday. The U-21 team is preparing for the 11th SAG while the senior team is undergoing a closed camp for the ICC World Cricket League Division 5.
Shakti Gauchan, as usual, anchored the senior team's inning scoring 82 runs of 116 balls as the team set a target of 194 runs. Sanjam Regmi took three wickets while Binod Das, Basanta Regmi and Rahul Kumar BK took two wickets each to bowl the U-21 team out for 103 runs in 30th over.
