ITAHARI, JAN 11 - Two persons have been killed and other one seriously injured in separate road accidents at Itahari-Jhapa road stretch along the East West highway on Sunday night.

One motorcycle rider Suraj Rai died when a motorcycle (Ko 1 Ta 2910) rammed a parked tractor near Pankaj petrol pump at Itahari-Dulari stretch late night yesterday, according to eastern regional traffic police office.

Rai succumbed to injuries at around 12 while undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala institute of medical sciences in Dharan.

Meanwhile, pillion rider Kalpana Rai of Belbari is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

Likewise, an elderly woman died on spot when rammed by a bus (Me 1 Kha 951) last night.

The name and address of the women who seems to be in mid 60's has not been identified yet.

The police have undertaken the bus and its driver under custody.
