Two killed in separate road mishaps
RAJBIRAJ, JAN 10 - One boy was killed when rammed by an Indian truck (UP 78 AT 2095) at Portaha-5, Saptari along the East-West Highway on Sunday noon. The truck was bound for Biratnagar from Birgung.
The boy had sustained normal injuries initially but truck rolled back and crushed the boy to death, the locals said.
The deceased has been identified as Janiya Miya, 15, of Bhardaha VDC-5, Saptari.
According to Saptari District Police Office, the truck has been impounded and the driver is in police custody.
Meanwhile, locals have obstructed vehicular movement in Bhardaha road-section along the East-West Highway to protest the death.
Likewise, one motorcyclist, Hem Bahadur Saud, 24, of Malakheti-9, Dhangadi lost his life in a road mishap at Kailali-Malakheti road-section along East-West Highway Saturday night, Dhangadi District Police said.
The motorcycle (Ma 1 Pa 1026) headed for Dhangadi from Mahendranagar collapsed against the culvert in the highway instantly killing the rider.
