KATHMANDU, JAN 07 - The UCPN (Maoist) on Thursday agreed in principle to integrate its armies within four months as per the action plan proposed by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The Maoist leadership agreed on the proposal submitted by committee coordinator and PM Nepal at the meeting of the Special Committee on the Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of former Maoist combatants held in Singhadurbar this morning.

The prime minister had presented an action plan to settle the protracted issue of Maoist army management last Tuesday.

According to the committee spokesperson, Madhav Ghimire, the meeting discussed integration of Maoist ex-combatants within the time frame of 112 days.

Meanwhile, emerging from the meeting, committee member and Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said there are some disagreements between the Maoists and the NC over the issue.
