Maoists will be reduced to ashes like LTTE: PM Nepal
CHITWAN, JAN 07 - Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Thursday said that the Maoists will end up ruining themselves if they return back to revolt insted of changing their "wild behaviour".
"The Maoists' threat of launching revolt is the beginning of their road to elimination," said the prime minister, while addressing his party (CPN-UML) cadres in Bharatpur today.
The prime minister said that the Maoists will be reduced to ashes as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) of Sri Lanka if they again resort to another revolt.
Also on the occasion, PM Nepal charged that the Maoists have been pushing the country into a chaos. He added the problems have deepened further as the Maoists have not brought any changes in their behaviour.
He said the formation of the High Level Political Mechanism (HLPM) is on its way to get the final shape and that there is a need of Code of Conduct to be respected by the member leaders and parties in the mechanism.
The prime minister also said he has even requested Nepali Congress (NC) President Girija Prasad Koirala for the preparation of Code of Conducts.
PM Nepal said the political achievement gained so far in the country is not satisfactory.
He remarked that the Maoist cantonments will be vacated at any cost by integrating and rehabilitating the Maoist armies.
Meanwhile, the Maoist cadres who had gathered outside the Bharatpur Airport to show black flags to the prime minister pelted stones at his car while he was beign guarded by hundreds of security personnel.
