Maoist CC meet concludes; Dahal to handle govt leadership
KATHMANDU, JAN 05 - UCPN (Maoist) central committee (CC) meeting on Tuesday came up with the decision that party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will take the government leadership if the party take the leadersip of the to-be-formed government.
Speaking a press meeting organised to make public the decision to launch its fourth-phase protests endorsed by the abrupt central committee meeting, Dahal said so and claimed that there are not internal protest over the decision. Earlier, Dahal had been said that he would not take the leadership of the government participated by his party.
Dahal said that his party has taken the rumor that Indian has pressurised to give the prime ministerial post to party leader Baburam Bhattarai was just a ploy to create rift within the party. He claimed that there are no debate within the party over the leadership.
At the press meet, leader Bhattarai remarked that he has taken the rumor as an attempt to defame him and made it clear that there is no internal conflict within the party.
Meanwhile, the main opposition party has unveiled various protest programmmes for until Jan. 2 4 as part of its fourth-phase protest. The Maoists have announced to stage demonstration in front of Indian embassy and Singhdurbar on Jan. 19.
The leaders attending today’s CC meet endorsed the political report tabled by Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today.
The meeting finalised the agitation programmes for their fourth phase of their protests.
Dahal presented his political report incorporating various issues including the party politburo decision to organise protest assemblies at the border regions where India has encroached Nepali territory as part of the fourth phase protest.
