Disqualified combatants discharge to begin from Jan. 7

KATHMANDU, JAN 04 - The discharge process of the disqualified Maoist combatants is all set to start this week.

A meeting of the Direction Committee for the discharge and rehabilitation of the disqualified Maoist combatants in the capital today decided to initiate the process from 7th January, starting from the Maoist cantonment in Sindhuli.

The combatants will be discharged from the cantonments providing them with bus fare and travel cost, said coordinator of the committee and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Rakam Chemjong talking to media persons after the committee's meeting.

The disqualified combatants will be provided with the facilities of education up to grade XII and professional training. 

United Nations will also monitor the disqualified combatants for a year after their discharge from the cantonments.

It has been learnt that each of the combatants will be provided with identity cards and based on their identity cards they could take professional training at any time within a year.
