MUGU, JAN 04 - Remote Mugu district is reeling under food shortage as the foodstuffs have not been transported in the district since past four months.

According to Bhim Thapa, the chief at Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) Mugu, the NFC depot is unable to provide the foodstuffs to the local people now. A new airlines company, Air Kasthmandam, was contracted to transport the food in the district. But the air company has not started to transport the foodstuffs yet.

"We borrowed 934 quintals food from Jumla and distributed to the people. The demand for the foodstuffs is still so high," Thapa said.
