SAPTARI, DEC 30 - The number of people dying from cold wave is on the rise in Saptari following a sudden mercury plunge in the district for the past few days.
Hira Devi Karna (45), resident of Barahi Birpur-1 VDC, who was admitted to the Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital after she fell sick due to the fall in temperature, died Tuesday night.
With this, the number of people who have died of severe cold in the past month has reached five in the district.
Earlier this month, Durgadevi Jha (55), Sitaram Roy (53), Gangiyadevi Roy (50) and Manjukumari Roy (8) had died of cold in the district.
