PARSA, DEC 24 - Two Dalit families at Lawaharthakari VDC in Parsa district have been socially boycotted.
The people of the so-called higher castes have boycotted the families of the Mukti Raut Dom and Kobhila Dom of the locality.
Kovila Dom said the so-called upper caste people have been preventing them from collecting water from the public tap and also mingling with the people in the society.
She said they have been treated in this way since some months back.
The two Dalit families have been compelled to use the water from a local stream after they were prevented from using the public tap.
They complained that the district administration has not paid any attention to addressing their problem although they have filed a written complaint about the mistreatment towards them.
