BARA, DEC 21 - A fire caught the house of Ganesh Bahadur KC at Simara-9 in Bara district Sunday evening, destroying property worth Rs. 600,000.
According to victim Indira KC, 10 tolas of gold, Rs. 160,000 in cash and cloths were gutted. She said electrical short circuit was to blame for the fire.
Of the two houses belonging to Ganesh, the fire reduced one to cinders and partially destroyed his another house.
Local residents, teams of Armed Police Force and Nepal Police brought the fire under control one and half hours later. Two fire engines from Nepal Oil Corporation, Amelakhgunj and Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City were also pressed into service.
