KATHMANDU, DEC 20 - Notwithstanding its earlier assurances that Ambulances, mediapersons, HR representatives and diplomatic representatives will not be attacked during its three-day strike, the UCPN (Maoist) cadres  vandalised an ambulance belonging to Sahid Gangalal Heart Centre at Gaushala in the capital on Sunday. The demonstrators forced the passengers out of the ambulance and misbehaved them.

Likewise, millions of people were forced to bear the brunt of the Maoist-enforced strike across the nation.

KAVRE

Meanwhile, the agitating Maoists vandalised a motorbike of the chief editor of Kavrepost, Bishnu Chaulagain, while he was heading for Kavre after printing the newspaper in the capital. The Maoists also manhandled its reporter Deepak Chaulagain and market representative Dinesh Shrestha.

The Maoist-imposed general strike has largely affected normal life in Kavre district. The vehicular movement in the Araniko Highway has come to a grinding halt.

POKHARA

Normal life in the district has come to a virtual standstill due to the Maoist-called banda. However, ambulances, press, human rights and police vehicles have plied the roads.

The banda-enforcers vandalised a taxi (Ga 1 Ja 3834) at around 5 this morning.
