New statute will end crisis: Nemwang

KATHMANDU, DEC 19 - Constituent Assembly (CA) Cchairman Subash Chandra Nemwang Saturday said the new statute would end the current political deadlock.

Inaugurating the general convention Federation of LPG retailers in the capital today, the CA chair said the main objective of the people's movement was to draft a new constitution and establishment of unwavering peace, and added that it is necessary move ahead unitedly to meet the goal.

Saying that the interim constitution cannot work for a long time, the House speaker stressed that the new constitution should be promulgated within the stipulated time.

Also in the convention, Nepali Congress spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC said that the Maoists act of seizing land and property would not safeguard the democracy.
