DHANUSHA, DEC 08 - Now, it’s the holy men's turn to jump into the bandwagon of protest culture.

The priests in Janakpur district who have been protesting the arrest of their fellow priests shut down the temples across the religious town for three hours on Tuesday.

The priests resorted to the strike since Monday to press for the release of Hindu holy priests Ram Kripal Das of Pushpa Kuti and Ramsaran Das.

The priests closed the main entrance of all the temples in the sacred town from 9 am to 12 pm today.

Earlier, the priests had staged sit-in at the premises of Janaki Mandir on Monday.

Police had held the Das duo for their alleged involvement in poisoning the Pan of another holy man Sitaram Saran.
