KATHMANDU, DEC 01 - UCPN (Maoist) People's Liberation Army (PLA) Deputy Commander Chandra Prakash Khanal has said that attempts are underway to release the disqualified combatants from the cantonments in few days.

He said the disqualified combatants will be rehabilitated by the Maoists itself as the government failed to agree on the issue of rehabilitating in a package.

Speaking at a press conference organised by the Sanskitikarmi Janasena Mitteri Abhiyaan in the capital, Khanal said the disqualified combatants will return to their own home and will unite as the party cadres after they leave the cantonments.

In another context, Khanal who is also the PLA spokesperson charged the government of trying to derail peace process.

He said the statements of the Home Minister and Defence Minister has hinted towards the delay in peace process and claimed that there will be peace in the nation until the PLA remain mute-spectator in the cantonments.
