Civil servants back to work in Parsa

PARSA, NOV 30 - The agitating Civil Servants and their umbrella organisations, who had halted the entire administrative works in the district demanding action against State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Karima Begam for slapping Parsa Chief District Officer (CDO), called off their protest and got back to work from Monday.

The civil employees returned to their work following a two-point deal at an all-party meeting held last night where they were urged to resume work by the civil society.

The meeting presided over by Parsa CDO Yadav Koirala sealed a two-point agreement and came down heavily upon the shameful incident.

Earlier, the civil servants had resorted to an indefinite strike bringing the entire administrative works in the district to a grinding halt, saying the government continued to ignore their call for taking action against Minister Begam.

On November 10, Minister Begam had repeatedly slapped then Parsa CDO Durga Prasad Bhandari for providing her with an old vehicle.

The incident had sparked outrage and agitation among the civil servants across the nation
