KATHMANDU, NOV 27 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday evening. The meeting lasted about an hour and half.

The president’s Press Adviser Rajendra Dahal said the Maoist chairman accompanied by Deputy Leader of Maoist Parliamentary Party Narayan Kaji Shrestha, held a frank and open exchange with the president. The Maoist chairman urged the president to “do something” to help find a way out of the ongoing political stand-off, Dahal said. In response, Dr. Yadav asked Dahal not to bring the office of the president into controversy, but committed to stand by the decision taken by political parties. The meeting was very open and cordial, Dahal said.
