RAJBIRAJ, NOV 24 - Cadres of Jaykrishna Goit-led Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha (ATMM), an armed group active in Tarai, abducted a local from Saptari district on Tuesday morning.
Some eight to ten ATMM armed cadres abducted Hari Narayan Sah, 40, from his own house at Koicha, Bakhari yesterday.
The abductors assaulted Sah and took him away nearby the Indian border, the family source said.
Meanwhile, ATMM central member Abhinash admitted that Sah was abducted as per the party policy with an objective to curb corruption.
The ATMM had issued a press statement some two weeks back and had announced to launch a special campaign to control corruption in the district.
The armed group has charged Sah with taking huge interest on loans provided to the poor general public in the village.
