KATHMANDU, NOV 20 - The Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party meeting on Friday concluded the main opposition Unified CPN (Maoist) of being noncommittal to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

The meeting that took place at the NC PP office in Singha Durbar today accused that the Maoists are trying to breach the peace accord by inviting political instability in the name of protests.

The NC stated that the Maoists are not serious towards implementation of the peace accord.

The meeting also marked the third anniversary of the signing of the CPA between the then seven-party alliance and the Maoists.

Expressing its concerns over the delay in the rehabilitation and integration of the Maoist combatants, return of the Maoists-seized property and rehabilitation of those displaced during the Maoists armed insurgency, the NC PP urged the Maoists to become committed towards the CPA.

Stating that the Maoists obstruction of the Parliament has not allowed the annual budget to be endorsed and that it has created economic crisis in the country, the party urged the Maoists to understand the gravity of the situation and become serious towards the same.

The meeting also reiterated its support to the incumbent UML-led coalition.

Likewise, NC lawmaker Jagadish Narsingh KC said that the meeting formed a three-member task force under the leadership of deputy PP leader Prakash Man Singh to manage the foreign tour of its lawmakers.
