Climbers tour Europe

KATHMANDU, NOV 20 - In an attempt to raise the profile of Himalayas in the global climate debate, two Everest summiteers--Apa Sherpa and Dawa Steven Sherpa--are touring 10 different cities in Europe as a part of starting from the historic city of Prague in the Czech Republic from Friday.

Both climbers will meet politicians, celebrities as well as common people of the 10 cities to deliver the message from Himalayan communities who literally living at the frontiers of climate change.

World renowned mountaineers and public figures will come together in Copenhagen to raise awareness on climate change and opportunities in the Himalayas on Dec. 11 to celebrate Mountain Day. A street carnival in the streets of Copenhagen will see hundreds of summiteers and other concerned crowds raising their voices for the Himalayas.

The European Expedition is to raise awareness on climate change impacts on the Himalayas.
