Oli flies to Delhi
KATHMANDU, NOV 19 - CPN-UML senior leader KP Oli left for New-Delhi, India on Thursday afternoon to attend 11th Communist and Workers Parties' International Meeting.
Communist leaders from 60 countries are expected to attend the conference scheduled for Nov. 20-22.
It has been learnt that Oli is most likely to meet senior Indian leaders including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Minister for Finance Pranab Mukherjee, Minister for Foreign Affairs S M Krishna, Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao, among other Indian leaders.
According to Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo member S. Ramachandran Pillai, the theme of the meeting is 'the international capitalist crisis, the workers' and peoples' struggle, the alternatives and the role of the communist and working class movement.'
The conference, to be held in Ramada Plaza, a five-star hotel, is being organised jointly by the CPI-M and the Communist Party of India (CPI).
