Adhikari, Lama advance
Kathmandu, Nov 18 - Kumar Adhikari, Chewang Lama and Maheshwor Tiwari won their respective matches at the Second APF Open Lawn Tennis Championship on Tuesday.
Adhikari defeated Niraj Thapa 6-0, 6-2 while Lama nailed Hari Hiyu 6-7, 6-4, 7-5. Tiwari beat Gaurav Shah 6-1, 7-5 at the APF court on Tuesday.
In the above-35 veterans doubles, the duo of Ram Rana and Niranjan Shrestha downed Durga Kunwar and Suraj Shrestha. Likewise, the twosome of Sanat Kumar Basnet routed Rajendra Aryal and Gopal Das Manandhar 6-1, 6-1 while the duo of Prem Prakash Thapa, Prithivi Thakali and Dinesh Tuladhar received a walk over.
In the men's double category, the pair of Kumar Adhikari and Jitendra Pariyar hammered Rameshwor Thapa and Binod Gautam 6-1, 6-1. Likewise, the pairings of Raju Rai and Raju Shrestha, Ashok Singh and Santosh Khatri, Shreeyans Karki and Hari Hiyu and Shyam Krishna G.C. and Bijay Rai won their respective matches.
In the doubles of veterans above-45 category, Krishna Ghale and Suvarna Dhakwal trounced Sahadev Dhungana and Ranjan Bista 6-0, 6-1 while the pair of Suman Dhukwa and Arjun Karki overcame Tenzing Sherpa and Ashok Shakya 6-3, 6-2.
