Office capture, autonomous state declaration against Maoist strategy: Gajurel
Party has taken the incidents that took place going against the policy seriously.
DHANKUTA, NOV 14 - The declaration of autonomous states, and seizure of private and public property and government offices are against the strategy of Unified CPN (Maoist), said its senior leader on Saturday.
The party will not approve such incidents, added Maoist Secretary CP Gajurel.
He said so talking to the journalists in Dhankuta where the Maoist cadres seized the municipality and announced new office bearers, which they said was done as per the ‘people’s constitution’. A few days ago, the Maoists declared Kirat Autonomous State taking up six hilly districts in the eastern Nepal.
He said his party has taken the incidents that took place going against the policy seriously.
According to him, declaration of autonomous states was temporary and the Maoist party is not inclined to capture the state power through such a way. He said the party would rather work as per the people's aspirations through revolution.
The Maoist leader claimed that the second-phase of agitation against the government and president’s move was successful, and added that third-phase of protest would be more intense but peaceful.
He went on to claim that the people’s supremacy would be gained by the next phase of protests.
Gajurel reached Dhankuta to attend a programme organised by his party to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Chhintang mass killing during the Panchayat regime.
