SAPTARI, NOV 14 - President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday visited the Chhinnamasta Temple in Saptarai and prayed to Chhinnamasta Devi, the beheaded goddess, for the sustainable peace in the country.

Speaking briefly to the journalists following a prayer at the temple this morning, President Yadav said that he prayed for the sustainable peace.

He also said all the issues must be solved through talks and forging consensus.

President Yadav who had reached Jhapa the previous day to inaugurate the newly built building of the Mechi Eye Hospital reached Chinnamasta Temple from Itahari this morning.

Large numbers of security personnel were deployed near the temple area for the president's arrival.

The Maoists have been protesting the president for his step to nullify the Maoist-led government to sack the then army chief, which became the principal reason for the former rebel party Unified CPN (Maoist) to step down from the government.
