Case of public offence filed against CDO-slapper Minister Begam
Govt employees strongly protest the assualt
PARSA/KATHMANDU, Nov 11 - Police on Wednesday said that they have filed a case of public offence against Minister of State for Agriculture Karina Begam for physically assaulting Chief District Officer of Parsa Durga Prasad Bhandari.
She has returned to the capital from Simara today.
The Minister slapped CDO Bhandari, Chief District on Tuesday at his office in Birjugn for not providing her with a new vehicle. She represents in the Constituent Assembly from one the constituencies in the district, and was on a visit to her hometown.

Meanwhile, various civil employees’ organisations protested against the assault, halting the regular work at the offices under the Home Ministry. They have demanded action against the ‘perpetrator’ and public apology from her.

The civil employees have planned to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister to take disciplinary action against her.
The National Civil Servants Federation demonstrated at the Ministry of Agriculture in Kathmandu today. The Civil Servants Union said that it will publicise its view on the i
ncident only after the government announces its decision on the same.
After the civil employees took to agitation, work at all the government offices in Narayani zone was halted.
Likewise, civil employees in Ramechhap and Sankhuwasabha districts stayed away from the regular work for two hours today to protest the Minister’s misbehaviour.
Chure Bhavar Rastriya Ekata Party called for a vehicular strike at the East-West highway in Rautahat for an hour. The party said that it will intensify its agitation if action is not taken against the minister.
