KATHMANDU, OCT 28 - Prime Minister Madav Kumar Nepal met with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Wednesday. The Prime Minister, who reached the President's office at Sheetal Niwas at 3:15, spent about 40 minutes in discussion with the ceremonial head of state.

President's press advisor Rajendra Dahal said the meeting was not prescheduled but a regular briefing between the executive and ceremonial heads of the state.

The meeting came in the backdrop of the announcement of Maoists' second phase of struggle programmes even as they have brought the house proceedings to a complete halt by raising the issue of President's move reinstating the then Army Chief.

PM Nepal informed the President about the latest happenings in the political spectrum, Dahal said. "This was a regular meeting as both of them could arrange time to meet," said Dahal.

However, the meeting between the President and the Prime Minister at this point of time is viewed with much significance.

A few days back, the President had expressed his displeasure over the discussion among the major parties and the language used in the common resolution motion to be tabled at the parliament for discussion in order to end the House deadlock.
