Two days left for consensus: Dr Bhattarai
KATHMANDU , OCT 22 - Unified CPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai Thursday warned of “decisive uprising” if an outlet to the political impasse is not sought in two days.
There is no alternative to “decisive uprising” since the government is considering the Maoists’ flexibility as weakness, he added while addressing a programme in the capital.
He said, “We will launch decisive revolution in two days if a political solution is not found. But the outlet has not been sought so far since the ruling parties are taking our flexibility as weakness.”
Dr Bhattarai elaborated that the Maoists were “compelled to take to the streets since national and international power houses are running the government.”
On the occasion, Maoist leader Leelamani Pokharel claimed the Indian embassy has been spending budget “as per its own wish” in eastern border and other parts and added that this has put the country’s sovereignty and integrity in danger.
