Girija-led govt ‘unacceptable’ to Maoists

MORANG, Oct 06 - The Maoists will not accept a new government led by Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala, said Unified CPN (Maoist) Secretary CP Gajurel. Speaking at a press meet organised by the Morang Chapter of Revolutionary Journalists Association on Tuesday, Gajurel rebuffed the media reports that his party proposed Koirala to lead the new government, and said the rumours do not hold any truth. He claimed that the new government should be formed under the Maoist leadership. Opining the present political stalemate cannot be resolved through bare talks, the Maoist leader remarked that a struggle was the only solution to it. He charged that conspiracies have been hatched not to let the army integration happen and the new constitution be drafted by posing the army as the bone of contention. He further tagged the present government as puppet and accused it of not abiding by the decisions made earlier. He said his party will not let the new constitution be drafted in the way proposed by the US.
