Call for ending minors’ use in agitation
NEPALGUNJ, OCT 03 - District Children’s Club Network has demanded end to the use of minors in the political parties’ agitation, strikes and assembly.
Network’s chairman Anubha Rana met Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Sarbadev Ojha and submitted a letter including 14 demands on Saturday. “The government has to prioritise protection of child rights,” she said.
In response, Minister Ojha said he is working on guaranteeing child rights in the new constitution.
The network’s other demands include strong action against those who employ children as domestic helpers, prohibition of punishment at school, provision of faculty teachers, allocation of sufficient budget for child sector and so forth.
