CHITWAN, OCT 02 - Three people have been killed and eight others injured when a truck plunged into the Trishuli River at Chandibhanjyang in Chitwan district on Friday.

The ill-fated truck (Na 2 Kha 6861) heading to Chitwan from Dhading district veered of the road and plunged into the river at Chandibhanjyang VDC-9 along the Prithvi Highway.

According to the police, one person died on the spot while two others breathed their last while undergoing treatment. The identity of the dead is yet to be ascertained.

Four of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
