Nepal Police win National Volleyball
KATHMANDU, SEP 17 - Nepal Police Club clinched the title of the First National Volleyball League by defeating Armed Police Force (APF) in the last round played at the Dashrath Stadium Covered Hall on Wednesday.
For the title, Nepal Police, which had also won the second round of the league held earlier, registered a hard fought 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20 win over APF. The title fetched the winning team a cash prize of Rs. 80,000 while the runner up had to be content with Rs. 40,000. Third finishers ECS took home Rs. 20,000 followed by fourth placed Maoists' PLA with Rs. 10,000.
Nepal Police Club also won the women title to stamp their dominance in volleyball. They bagged Rs. 50,000 for the win. Runner up Western region, which finished second, took Rs. 25,000.
Likewise, Chuda Khadka of Nepal Police took honours for the best player in the women's section while Em Rana also from Nepal Police bagged honours in the men's section.
Ramila Shrestha of Central region and Kailash Dutta Bhatta of Armed Poilce Force were declared the best spkiers in the women's and the men's section respectively.
