Makhan eye glory

KATHMANDU, SEP 13 - Makhan Chess Club moved closer to title of the First Himalayan Chess Championship after winning both their games on Saturday. In fifth round, Makhan defeated Machhindra while in the sixth they defeated Chetanshil Samaj.

Makhan have 12 points so far in the championship with 22 teams. Kantipur Chess Club stands second with 10 points. They defeated Himalayan A and Himalayan B 3.5-0.5 and 2.5-1.5 respectively. Friends of Nation and Far-western have eight points each. Likewise, Himalayan A, Kathmandu Chess club, Machhindra, Patan Jaycees and Chetanshil Samaj have 7 points each.
